wow make this a real title later i guess
All things considered, this could be worse. He's not sure how, but he's a creative guy. So what if his own universe's going to hell in a handbasket while he's stuck here playing nice with a bunch of people with familiar names and unfamiliar everything elses. At least nobody here hates him.
Well, maybe. He can tell everyone's not a fan of the Stark from this world, so adding another Stark isn't exactly their idea of a good time. But they're willing to help him out anyway, so while Tony and his counterpart figure out a way to get him back home, he watches the others with curiosity, unable to help himself.
This Steve, though, he gives a wide berth. He doesn't mean to, but he does anyway. Everything that had just happened back home, Steve's death...it was still too fresh. And the last thing Tony wants to do is make things weird for this world's Steve, who seems too young and a little too lost compared to the Steve he was familiar with. He's friendly enough with all of them, either way, even Steve. If there's anything Tony knows it's how to put on a show.
Tonight he's doing just that, allowing himself to be brought along to some Avengers party at the tower in New York that was used as a secondary headquarters. He stays out of everyone's way, mostly, chatting with those who didn't think it was too weird having a Tony Stark from another universe around. The rest of the time though he just watches Steve. He wonders if this world will have its civil war, if this team will be ripped apart the way his was. It's a sobering thought and he hasn't even had anything stronger than soda tonight.
